A Little Bit About Me

 

A little about myself...

So, my name is Cole Ferrara, I am in my last term here at LB finishing out an General studies Associates degree. I am hoping to transfer back to Portland State hopefully in the fall and finish out a marketing degree when I get there. I am hoping to go into real estate with my uncle after I finish school and will be pursuing a career in commercial real estate. I am currently not focused primarily on a marketing degree with my studies here at LB but hope to when I transfer as I take more classes in the business department.

 Marketing and me...

 I have always been interested in marketing as a whole because every bit of work that goes on behind the scenes and in front of our eyes, within any product, of any sort has always interested me. I have always been curious since getting older trying to learn what goes into the thought process of those who are attempting to market certain things to the world. I have taken a few business classes here at LB and hope to continue my journey of knowledge in this field even further. 

Life outside school...

I do not do much outside of college to be honest. I am usually working or going to concerts with my extra free time. I have attended a few festivals in Seattle and a few others at the Gorge, as well as some in California. I go to the gym occasionally as well, but other than those few things I really do not do much outside of school since it has taken up so much of my time. With covid taking away much of these things for me, this last year and half or so has been pretty low key outside of work and school. I am hoping to be able to attend concerts as they start to happen more if everything goes well.

Marketing in The News

The streaming platform Twitch has started to become a strong outlet for artists around the world. With Covid 19 still affecting the world when it comes to gathering, artists have looked towards Twitch to market themselves    For this weeks post I chose to speak on something very interesting to myself because it involves two things I enjoy quite a bit which are music and Twitch. Music has always been a big part of interest to me because I enjoy going to concerts and listening to music in general. I also tend to watch streams a lot because most of my time is spent at home on my computer when I am not at work. With most concerts and festivals being shut down or cancelled because of the virus, artists have now and recently started to use Twitch as a way to market themselves and their music to their fans.  With the article I read from VICE, it is directly speaking about streaming somewhat "replacing" clubs or concerts for artists overall.
